Chemex is pleased to announce its slow-dissolving Enviro-Brom™ DBNPA Tabs are now EPA-registered for use as a drain sanitizer.
This is a new-use EPA registration and represents the first for a solid DBNPA sanitizer in drain applications. DBNPA is a non-oxidizing biocide proven effective against problematic drain microorganisms such as Listeria, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, and E. coli.
The low persistence of DBNPA means drain effluents and will not upset wastewater biological digestion systems.
Enviro-Brom™ DBNPA Tabs are placed in the drain basket.
Unlike fast-dissolving Quat and iodine rings, Enviro-Brom™ DBNPA Tabs last up to 21 days, depending on water temperature and flow.
ENVIRO-BROM Tabs incorporate 2,2-dibromo-nitrilopropionamide (DBNPA), a nonoxidizing biocide, and Enviro Tech’s proprietary slow-dissolution technology, allowing each tablet to treat 500 gallons for approximately two weeks.
Tablets will most effectively gently recirculate water at a pH below 9. Tablets are packaged individually in water-soluble bags to allow for safe handling and are suitable for use in tablet feeders, floaters, or suspended bags – tablets will not swell or leave any slimy residue.
ENVIRO-BROM Tabs are composed of 95.6% DBNPA, with the balance a proprietary inert package providing controlled release.

The product should be stored in a cool, dry, location in the provided container, with the lid tightly closed. Only remove the product when ready to use, and replace the lid promptly – do not discard the moisture absorber.
